About Me:

When I was younger, I wanted to be a singer, an actress and a chef. Needless to say, I am not the best singer or actor, and I just started cooking for myself since I am living on my own now. It wasn't until I was around 13 years of age that I thought about a job in the media industry.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, I grew up watching the news in the morning before my parents drove my 3 siblings and I to school and at night after our homework was finished and dinner was served. Sports is also a big part of my upbringing. As we got older, there were very few days that we were all at home by 5 p.m. in the Hameed House. Each day as my parents ran back and forth from work to car pool lines at practice, when basketball season rolled around the Cleveland Cavaliers still made it on our screen by 8 p.m. for Wednesday night tip offs. at home  my time in middle school and high school, I also participated as a three sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and track field.  The news and sports were always on.

"Inspire each girl to fulfill her promise and better the world."

While at Laurel School, I found out that my promise was to be a voice for the voiceless and historically marginalized communities and groups. With that in mind, I decided to kick-start my own business.

Youth Sports Report, was created to address the fact that women and women of color are misrepresented in the sports media industry. In the past, they have not received the same opportunities as their other counterparts due to the industry being overwhelmingly white and male-oriented. With the mission to provide support, education, and empowerment for specifically young women seeking entrance in sports media, YSR provided a platform to young high school athletes at an early age with the proper skills to market themselves in a professional manner.
